AHA! We've discovered where all the Supergold money is going! lol
Mach / 2002-09-17 16:37:36HA! those are like 15 years of cds, mostly used, and mostly from 1994 and before actually. That was the worst part of going through my cds, so so many of them are "oh man, I really liked this?" ones.
andrew / 2002-09-17 16:40:02Yeah, I been there myself. I've gotta start ripping my CDs again soon; after my hard drive died a few weeks ago, I lost my entire CD Archive of MP3's, among other things. So what program you using to rip?
Mach / 2002-09-17 17:19:13I'm on a mac and using iTunes that comes with it. It's awesome, it has a setting so basically you stick in a cd, it looks up the names and converts it, then ejects it and you put in another and the same thing keeps happening. So I'm just doing my normal stuff and every few minutes it pops out and i stick another in, so handy.
andrew / 2002-09-17 17:51:54My musical taste is seated safely back in the early 80s - I'd not put up a picture of my CDs for fear of being laughed off the internet :)
X / 2002-09-17 18:20:25Andrew - What bitrate are you converting to? I hope it's at least 160 Kbps. ;-)
Mach / 2002-09-17 18:53:35oh man, my cds are all way more embarssing than anyone's i bet. the ones in the picture aren't even so bad, the other half or whatever are just terrible, stuff like uhh.. just bad stuff. I have Lynrd Skynrd's greatest hits and i have no clue why or where I got it. I think used for really cheap. I sure hope so hah. Also Bootsy Collins' "What's Bootsy Doin?" which is so bad, such crap. I think I got that for 1.99 though I'm pretty sure. Anyhow my point is: yeah. Oh and mach: 192 kbps I guess. I can't really tell a huge diff between that and 128 but I figured why not, doesn't make it any slower to do or whatever.
andrew / 2002-09-17 19:19:15Ahh, I love iTunes. If only my laptop weren't in getting the little ejecty thing fixed so it'll actually open. My musical taste is grounded in 1967, so I recognize very few of the bands on those CDs.
Ellen / 2002-09-17 19:54:24heh, i saw son volt
mary / 2002-09-17 20:50:32really? where? They're my favourite, I've seen them like 6 or 7 times I think.
andrew / 2002-09-17 21:08:27w00t: janes addiction, cake, wilco...ahh there were more, but my brain broke! anyways, i'm in the process of moving and to convert from cd to mp3 on this computer would be a waste of tizzime.
janea / 2002-09-17 22:17:50ooh. notifylist is getting personal. it was pretty gross that i could see up your nose though.
liz / 2002-09-18 11:03:59haha no you couldn't! err could you? time to move that video!
andrew / 2002-09-18 11:15:31I think you playing that harmonica is the most i've ever seen of your face! Will you ever show a picture of yourself?
Rob / 2002-09-18 11:47:41well I own like, 5 weird Al cds, and there is nothing more embarassing as that.
milky / 2002-09-20 16:47:04NoOooOooOOoooo. I come back from vacation to an actual Andrew update, and he's even added a movie of him playing harmonica, but, by the time I get to it, it's gone. I swear the whole world's against me. :D
Racer96 / 2002-09-23 20:20:35haha, i think everyone who ever heard of hHead made the same jJokes!
andrew / 2002-09-23 21:16:48I figured out Big Star and Sonic Youth/Dirty. However, I noticed your stack of Redd Kross CD's sans the Third Eye CD I gave you several years ago. Where is it, huh?
goosepants / 2002-10-08 10:34:27I figured out Big Star and Sonic Youth/Dirty. However, I noticed your stack of Redd Kross CD's sans the Third Eye CD I gave you several years ago. Where is it, huh?
goosepants / 2002-10-08 10:36:28Oh hey! it's on top of my bookcase right now actually, I just haven't gotten to it yet!! And howdy!
andrew / 2002-10-08 10:43:53you mean like this? (the name-link leads my CD list as of 1994... my vinyl LP list is about ten times longer and never did get transwebified, yet :)
candora / 2002-11-15 22:44:22I worked in a music store for 5 years and used to be able to call a cd just by it's spine. I think I've lost my skills. Or skillz. I do see you have a few Sonic Youth cds, is that Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dreams? Old 97s, which rules since they're from TX :), chili peppers, mmmm matthew sweet, mmm michael penn, beastie boys, pavement?, breeders, ooh the rentals, and besides the ones that are obviously visible. I think I've lost my touch. I used to have about 87394875 cds until I discovered mp3s, and sold most of them when I was broke. :) Anyhoodles, adios!
Mariposa / 2003-01-07 11:50:33haha, yup, pretty much dead on there, no smashing pumpkins, but a few sonic youth yeah!
andrew / 2003-01-07 11:54:29i can't believe you have a junior brown cd. he is the man.
tim / 2005-11-24 20:29:38Yeah! I actually just deleted a bunch of live songs I downloaded of some concert he did, cause they were some weird format that took up a ton of space. He IS the man, love him!
