smokers are just bitter because they know they are going to die. Myself- I'm gonna live forever. (and no- I do not smoke... mwahahahahhahahaha!)

No, I think it's more like: Everyone gets cancer, so why not be in control of the kind of cancer you get? Some people don't like surprises. Yea, that's it...

everyone croaks. I wish I didn't smoke at all- so I just feel guilty when I do. I guess guilt is slightly better than breathing through tubes.

What really baffles me is how people who can hardly afford to eat somehow manage to afford about 20 packs a week.

nice! way to make fun of sick and dying people!! i smoke because i need something to do with my hands. if it wasn't smoking i'd be getting into knife fights and i prefer the slower, more subtle death. it's okay, andrew. we like you anyhow.

Isn't a Celestica a kind of Toyota?

When I smoked I didn't think I looked cool (I'm so far from cool I'm officially "warm") but see, it's just SSSOOOO GGRREEATAAATTTT... it's awesome. Smoking is awesome. ::shake shake:: But, yes, it does kill you and it's only actaully awesome like, MAYBE 5% of the time, the rest of the time it just hurts and smells and provokes public ridicule. So, I decided better to quit sooner than later so I quit. When I was smoking, though, OBVIOUSLY I wouldn't be the one to get cancer. I'm immortal. I would, however, every once in a while think "is this The One? Is this The Cigarette that will give me cancer?" It happened rarely, but it was marginally scary. (marginally because I'm immortal. Or was. I guess I'm more mortal the older I get. Bastard age.)

Smokers say that smoking is not addictive. Beg to differ. I quit smoking (cold turkey) on May 5th, 1985, after having smoked for 27 years. That was my wife's birthday present. But, after 20 years, I still get the urge to light up after dinner or with coffee.

just had this conversation today. i smoke on and off. i don't do it to look cool. (no, i'm serious. I'm not cool. smoking is my weakness at times. it is not my "coolness"). if you aren't a smoker, have never been, and don't have an addictive personality, then it's true, you may never understand. but believe me, inhaling disgusting, cancerous, choking fumes can actually feel pleasing. intellectually i know this makes no sense, but physically, i've been there. i don't care either way.. i don't care if they ban smoking everywhere in my city and i never get to touch a cigarette again. that would be the kick i need. but until then, trust me when i say, it's not so simple as "I look cool".

Tiscali reference came up with this. I got a casio stage piano thing, and yes the celesta is there. chiming away!! celesta Musical instrument, a keyboard glockenspiel producing high-pitched sounds of glistening purity. It was invented by Auguste Mustel of Paris in 1886 and first used to effect by Tchaikovsky in The Nutcracker ballet (1890).
