Actually, Bono's been pretending to play guitar for close to 20 years now. Periodically, especially in their more dramatic eras, he would wear the plugged in accoustic guitar around his body and hold it, maybe give it a few half-assed fake strums, and then WHIP IT BEHIND HIS BACK AT JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT, grab the mic, crouch down and start all his heavy breathing about Bishop Tutu or whatever.

Actually, if you watch the alternate Aloha from Hawaii, the Elvis special that was not broadcast, when he comes out to do C.C. Rider at the start of the show he is wearing an acoustic guitar. He strums is maybe 3 times, and it's not mic-ed. At the end of the song as the drums are wrapping it up, he whips the guitar off as fast as he can and holds it at the top of the neck straight out from his body, his body sideways to the audience, and the front of the guitar facing them. Then he points at it as the band hits the final crecendo high note. It's the greatest rock and roll move ever. That is the origin of the front man with the guitar prop. What's worse than Bono pretending to play the guitar, is Alanis pretending to play the guitar. What's worse than that, is her putting her name on a song credit as the writer. Or Avril pretending that she has anything to do with writing her songs.

hi andrew. I'm an immigrant from xanga.com. I just wanna say that I want to help you change the private layout into something better. when I first came to diaryland, I had second thoughts of whether I should move here or not, cos the private layout didn't look professional or comfortable enough to live with for the rest of my blogging like, unlike in xanga, whose private/members layout we could manipulate... anyway, i think it'd be better if you just use black and white, just like this comment page here. but I'll try to skin one with photoshop.:) I'm a she btw.
