Today has been a magical whirlwind of staring at a computer screen and typing on a keyboard. Lots of hours, interrupted by lots of breaks, punctuated by lots of yawns. And then somehow after midnight tonight I ended up watching a movie while I worked. Not just watching either, but being totally drawn into it. And not just any movie, but Jerry Springer's Ringmaster.
I don't know if it's because today in general has been sort of subtly surreal feeling or whether the movie really is that odd, but man, I don't know, something about it.. I didn't feel like I watched a movie. I feel like I watched some really long thing of people doing a bunch of things for no apparent reason. Like, the movie isn't funny, but it doesn't really try THAT hard to be, and it's not dramatic or touching or tender, because it's not trying that hard to be those things either. It's just like this really neutral thing. I'm not saying it was bad either, I don't think it was bad, or good, or like.. I really can't put my feelings into words on this. Wait, yes I can: You know the sort of pointless feeling you just got reading this paragraph? That's what I got from the movie.
So, on another note, I mentioned that today felt just a tiny bit surreal to me, and I think part of that is the fact that I was at this warehouse clearout sale thing where they were selling mostly halloween candy, and I bought a bunch of christmas lights for like 2 bucks and put them up across from my desk. Now all I need is a lava lamp and a bunch of crappy posters up and maybe some notes on my door and I can be just like a university student. BRING ON THE KEGS! Oh yeah, well my point sort of was: As I was paying for my lights at the store, there was this really big hub-bub at the door with this guy and his family yelling at some employee, who had closed the big gate-door things to keep them in. After watching for a minute or two and listening to the cashiers talk (they were watching too and not paying much attention to cashier-ing), i learned that the family had been walking around the store eating halloween candy!! Isn't that insane? It was a big family too, with at least 3 or 4 kids and I think an older relative, as well as the mother and father. So nuts! Who does that! Etcetera! I have no really good way of ending this entry! So I'm just going to burn out on exclamation marks! Etc.!!
