I keep meaning to write about my new love: TV BINGO! I forget how I got it in my head a few weeks ago that I wanted to try playing TV Bingo, but I did. When I went to the drugstore last week I saw a sign saying they sold the bingo tickets (bingo boards?), so I bought a sheet of 3, and waited eagerly for TV Bingo night.
TV Bingo night came, and I forgot to watch it until 20 minutes into the program. I had to phone up their 1-800 number to ask how to play, and some nice old guy told me, but I unfortunately didn't hear him cause Sammy was gesturing to the TV to me, waving around and whatnot and saying "they stopped the show cause you called!". Oops, they did, they must pause when someone phones, thinking it may be a bingo. Anyhow, they only paused for a minute, so I didn't feel that bad. Holy crap, have you ever written a bunch of stuff and you just look back and it's so annoyingly crappy you can't even stand it? Has anyone been able to follow along with the story this far? I am horrible today. Well anyway the story has no good ending: I lost last week, so I bought another ticket, played this week, and lost again.
I have been thinking lately about things I have never done, and how I want to do a lot of them. Not awesome things like skydiving or killing the pope, just boring things like playing TV Bingo. In this spirit, last week I did another thing I have never done: I bought an entire salmon fish. Once I got home, it actually turned out that they had taken the head off it, but I feel comfortable saying it was still a whole salmon fish. I barbecued it and it tasted okay, but I don't actually really love salmon or anything, and it had some bones in it. But still, I bought a whole salmon fish, something I had never done before. This summer I bought a whole chicken, but that wasn't just because I had never bought one, that was because I wanted to smoke a whole chicken. And I did, and it was okay, except I left it too long before serving it, so it was sort of lukewarm which wasn't that great. Also a couple of people got salmonella and threw up all night after eating it. Haha, just kidding, you don't get salmonella from chicken, you get it from salmon!
Now that I have purchased/cooked a whole salmon fish, and also played TV Bingo (twice!), I wonder what new things I will do next. I don't really know what they'll be, but I know one thing: They will be unimpressive.
On a whole other note, I got the Toothpaste For Dinner book the other day and man it's good. It's interesting when web people actually do real things, like have real book companies publish their books, and this happens to be very good, I really love all the cartoons in it, some just had me cracking up. Holy crap, I really can't write today, kill me. Anyhow, good book, yes, recommended.
