It's 7:30 a.m. and I've been up all night. I just watched Sudden Impact which I taped the other day, it was pretty good. Not amazing, but not bad. I was hoping watching a movie would get me all tired, but nope, it didn't really. I have energy right now, even though I know I should be sleeping, so I think maybe I'll work on some stuff for an hour or two. I was going to write an eggpost but I know from experience that when I do that while I'm tired it's just a bad idea.
If you've noticed a recent trend in my diary of it being really really boring, so have I. I figured I should get back in this habit though. The habit of writing that is. Writing absolute crap that is.
All night I have been fixated on the idea of bowling tomorrow but I have a feeling it won't be happening. I mean if I do go bowling I'm sure it will be HAPPENING, in the swinging-woohaw-yeah-we're-bowling sense, but I don't think I'll be bowling, no.
I've been working on my Y2K escape plan and I'm thinking professional bowler. I don't think anything awful is going to happen when 2000 hits, I'm just sort of assuming that everyone will suddenly go "hey these computers, what were we thinking?" all at once and I'm preparing my getaway early to avoid the rush. Maybe I'm just being hopeful.
So yeah, I've been thinking about bowling as a profession a lot lately. How much better a job could you have than bowling? All you do for work is to bowl, which is awesome and easy. Sure you have to practice a lot, but it's okay, because the practice is also bowling! I mean, let's compare it to ice carving (a profession I have given some thought, but not as seriously as bowling): In ice carving you job is carving ice, and you have to practice all the time. What makes it really bad is that the practice is ALSO carving ice. That's disgusting! Now let's look at bowling again: You bowl for a living. BONUS: You also practice all the time, ALSO BOWLING! Do you see where I'm coming from here? People are always going on about ice carving this and ice carving that, it's the wave of the future, blah blah blah, but if you ask me, bowling is where it's at. It's so obvious!
