Haha... every priests dream. That's great :)
Paula / 2002-07-25 18:38:07I would love to hear a news reporter saying 'popemobile' it's sounds so kitchy. They need to make little ones and hand them out to the kiddies in church, "Mom! He took my popemobile! Make him give it back!" That would be so wonderful.. that reminds me, I *still* haven't found a Jesus action figure, damn.. it's such a ridiculous item.. I need to own it. :)
panzer-kitty / 2002-07-25 18:38:35"Popemobile" gives me the impression that he might have a popebelt, with all sort of usefull popegadgets. Maybe he does. Maybe he could just press a popebutton on this popebelt, and out pops an indulgence forgiving people of future sins, or another popebutton that releases a popegrappling hook so that he can swing by a popewire through the vatican to his popepulpit and delicer his popemessage to the popemasses. then again, maybe he popedoesn't
Tony / 2002-07-25 18:59:28You mean helipopeters? I see them all the time.
KB / 2002-07-25 19:08:13Because if they started with "Popecoptors" you know someone would follow up with "Popechopper" and that could be bad.
Chris / 2002-07-25 20:26:13Also, check out: Battlepope!
Chris / 2002-07-25 20:30:41happy 200th entry!
Ruhee / 2002-07-25 21:04:03You know what I like best about the Popemobile? Well, aside from its overall fantastic appearance? It's called the Popemobile not because it carries the Pope but because it was created by Mr. Pope. I just think that's the greatest thing in the whole world.
Jenn / 2002-07-25 21:20:01They should market Popemobiles with Pope accessories. It's all about the hat. You know it is.
Erin / 2002-07-25 22:26:43Thank you, Alfred. Come alterboy, to the popemobile!!! (Yeah, that was not a good joke.) (At least I'm honest.)
singinggal / 2002-07-25 22:36:17Thank you, Alfred. Come alterboy, to the popemobile!!! (Yeah, that was not a good joke.) (At least I'm honest.)

Pious Bionicus / 2002-07-25 23:37:13ah yes, the wonderful pope mobile! LOL have you ever wondered... if he's so afraid of dying (hence all the bullet proof glass on every mobile he rides in) then what chance do WE have? LOL
kristen / 2002-07-25 23:38:46Actually, it's got bullet proof glass, because people have shot at him.
Information / 2002-07-26 00:41:28Oh man, speaking of which, today when they were showing overhead coverage of the Popemobile shot from a helicopter as the Popemobile traveled from this big gathering to the helipad, 2 people managed to get over police barriers and run to the popemobile. The first guy got maybe 5 feet past the barrier and was grabbed, but the second guy got RIGHT up to the Popemobile and was waving into it for what seemed like forever before the confused looking cops finally came and grabbed him, it was NUTS, really crazy.
andrew / 2002-07-26 00:47:21That's why he needs a popesuit, and a popebelt. I'm telling you, these popegadgets could help him out in popetimes like this. He's got the popemoney, he could be a vigilante superpopehero, he's already got the car with the cool popename. He's already got a million sidekicks (I think he calls them cardinals) What's he waiting for? He should be out fighting crime.
Tony / 2002-07-26 01:31:54When I was in Italy I went to the Vatican and saw the Pope in his popemobile... and I referred to it as a popemobile and everyone looked at me as though I was crazy... apparently only northamericans refer to it as the popemobile, and the Italians think that we are schmucks.
Amelindasue / 2002-07-26 08:06:29I heard that the pope's wife had a baby and then when it came out, it was a pope!!
Matthew / 2002-07-26 11:55:18WHAT? THAT JOKE ISN'T EVEN FUNNY! WHY DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SO FUNNY WITH THAT BABY JOKE THAT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY WAAH
Andrew / 2002-07-26 12:00:58THE POPE IS OLD! What I was wondering is why do they hold the International Youth Day thing in TORONTO? I mean they are making the poor pope travel? He can hardly talk. It should be at the Vatican or something. No offense Your Popeness! *bow*
Danielle / 2002-07-26 12:54:34I've never heard of the popemobile..lol..but then again I don't watch TV much... Hey! is there an Andrewmobile? ;p
Shaide / 2002-07-26 12:57:46Actually the pope is 82. And who cares how passive people use 'popemobile'. It would be totally different if the word was something like paedophile. Popemobile isn't exactly a cultural let down, and their fucking wicked cars, I have one myself.
Agnostic / 2002-07-26 15:16:43Did anyone understand a single sentence of that post? Okay me neither.
andrew / 2002-07-26 15:35:59What was he even saying? Too many big words... By the way, I have a Jesus Action Figure! It is so funny!! Although my dog is scared of it, so I think she might be a Bhuddist. Speaking of Bhuddists, I also have a Happy Monk squeaky toy. This is what the box says: "HAPPY MONK With Cellular Phone and Espresso!" And on the back it says: "This modern Happy Monk has a cellular phone, drinks espresso and chants with an elated squeak when you squeeze his tummy. For fun, buy two of them and make them chant in unison." How twisted is that???
Dan / 2002-07-26 16:27:12I don't get the whole Pope thing. The guy is like 180 years old and people flock to see him as if he's their ticket to heaven. He's just a man--albeit a man who gets to ride around in a cool little vehicle that just happens to be called "the popemobile." But, other than that, what makes him so special? Then again, I'm not Catholic, so that may be the reason for me not understanding.
BlueRayen / 2002-07-26 16:31:59Dude, the pope can FLY, didn't you know? So like, duh, that's why he's special.
andrew / 2002-07-26 16:44:08how about "popesicle" instead of popsicle. lame catholic church scandal pun. how many licks does it take to get to the center of a popesicle? oh i'm going to hell...
jodie / 2002-07-26 18:05:08I want a model pope with real tarmac and kissing lips or bathroom accesories "a pope-on-a-rope"
PUPPETT / 2002-07-26 20:29:52you're all immature morons. grow up and get off your asses to help society, instead of sitting around on your computers making fun of a horrible situation.
Lissa / 2002-07-26 20:36:46How can I be expected to help society if I'm deprived of such basic necessities as the Popemobile? Let's all think this through before we resort to immature name-calling.
Pious Bionicus / 2002-07-26 20:49:35First step to helping society: post confusing messages about the Popemobile being a tragic situation on online diaries.
andrew / 2002-07-26 20:52:02What is the Pope?
Kristin / 2002-07-26 21:57:34your guess is as good as mine. I suspect he has something to do with catholics or something. popemobile lol. who would have thought?! and its very surprising he didn't find himself feeing the least bit ridculous saying it. i guess some people just arent humorous. and what was agnostic saying? im very confused. ;/
ames / 2002-07-26 22:28:42The pope sounds entirely too much like the Godfather for my comfort.
red-wine / 2002-07-27 09:14:44OKAY! I clicked on a banner that was gonna lead me to a Britney Spears superfan so I could completely disown them....but its you! the creator of wonderful wonderful d-land! Whyyyyyyy???? WHy, Andrew, WHY!? I wanted to marry you dammit! But I cant deal with Britney...I just cant...waahhhh....*whimper* Why????

sycorax / 2002-07-27 17:42:14TO THE POPEMOBILE!
amber / 2002-07-27 22:29:14I really like the idea of 'pope on a rope', that'd make showering so much better. "Clean your soul as you clean your mortal flesh!" That sorta thing. I really like the sound of Jesus action figures. Does he come with fish and loaves of bread? Or at least some barrels of water to turn into wine? What does he do? Will he heal your papercuts? Next they'll bring out 'Jesus in a can' to give you a top up of that good ol' Christian loving! (never mind me, 12 years of Catholic schooling here!)
luminarySSh / 2002-07-27 22:46:30(9 years of catholic schooling so far here!) I was reading the comments and this one REALLY disturbed me!!! : Lex - 2002-07-26 07:53:20 I really fucking hate those Christians! They are so loud and happy and clean.. and the clapping and singing! Lord, make it stop! That was sickning to read! I am a PROUD Christian and WHAt is wrong with being happy and clean?!?! Or clapping and singing?! And just because I read this i might be EXTRA loud in church for you! Oh and sorry but I seriously doubt the Lord will stop people from praising him. When I go to Mass in the morning..I will pray for you... I like the word popemobile!! I think it has a nice ring to it! :))! haha and i like that idea of Pope on a Rope! lol! byebye!!
Lindsay / 2002-07-28 01:30:53Andrew, your Britney Spears ads tricked me here!
Whiskertas / 2002-07-28 01:31:36By the way in my above comment it didnt start another paragraph after the words Lord make it stop! ..those words were the end of his comment and my comment starts with That was sickning to read! Sorry..just didnt want anyeone to get confused!! :)
Lindsay / 2002-07-28 01:35:17Andrew, you sick little fuck... Using Britney Slut to bring people to your diary... Yeah yeah, so I clicked it. But I've been a reader of yours for a while, so I was very disturbed to find it was YOU! Pope-on-a-rope huh? How about a jesus soap dispenser? I could probably deal with a Pope shampoo and conditioner set, made free of any unnatural substances and in no way made by the hands of any young Catholic boys. Anyway, I'm going to fall into a frenzy of sleep and dream of Popemobiles and Popecopters. Thanks.
Justagirl22 / 2002-07-28 02:25:40Okay. I was watching the news. All I have to say is the caption next to all of the pope-commotion said "pope-a-palooza" That alone is great. What is better is that I have been inspired to create the popemobile snow-globe. This is the most exciting project i have come up with by far. Any suggestions on how to construct it?
claire / 2002-07-28 06:02:37Ya' think when the pope was little, he wanted to grow up to be pope?
stephanie / 2002-07-28 09:57:39Hey, think when he was a kid, he rode around on a popecycle? That would have been "cool". yuck, yuck.
Karen / 2002-07-28 10:00:31okay jesus people, enough fucking poope-on-a-rope jokes and shit, you are all retarded, and you did not make up that joke so quit pretending.
mark / 2002-07-28 10:02:06See! I'm not the only one who's upset by Britney Spears banners! Dammmit---what the crap is pope-on-a-rope??? Andrew---you should forget britney and listen to----Aerosmith, maybe? *wink*
Manda Gayle / 2002-07-28 11:36:45i think, in order for there to be a popemobile, there MUST be an accompanying theme song. possibly a rip-off of the batman theme, whatev.
dana / 2002-07-28 21:09:56Hey! You said you liked Britney Spears! LIAR! HeeHee. Her music amuses me. now listen to Weezer,NOW. i shake my fist at you. angrily.
PORKY / 2002-07-28 21:42:17Who's the white private dick that's a jesus machine to all the chicks? POPE! Ya damn right! Who is the man that would risk his neck for his brother man? POPE! Can you dig it? Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's satan all about? POPE! Right on! They say this cat POPE is a bad father SHUT YOUR MOUTH! I'm talkin' 'bout POPE. THEN WE CAN DIG IT! He's a complicated man But no one understands him but his Jesus, JOHN POPE!
pOPe / 2002-07-29 00:38:52I repeat the question...WHY Andrew WHY?????????????????????????????? do you have britney banners??? WHY????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? *ahem*
not a britney fan / 2002-07-29 02:30:47oops, sorry for screwing up your layout. But still. WHY????????
same person / 2002-07-29 02:31:42Andrew for Pope! Andrew for Pope!
Erin / 2002-07-29 04:02:17I remember when He was in Lebanon, and it was broadcasted Live on all channels, and I remember taking the A students in my class, this pissed me off, because I was too bum to study, but I remember that the Pope said when he was In Lady Mary of Harissa, that we had a beautiful horizon, that day it looked fabulous, purple pink blue ... He adviced us, catholic and muslim to work together, he's such a dreamer, I'm such a dreamer to have always believed this too...
OzZi / 2002-07-29 05:42:18Oh by the way, do you ever check anybody else's diary, I know you're very busy but just thought i'd ask
OzZi / 2002-07-29 05:50:49TO THE POPEMOBILE! i'm a superhero. my name is instawedgie. i will save you in my superthong. will you pet my kitty? meowww.
amber / 2002-07-29 14:46:49I can't believe how many comments are here about the damned pope. My hunch was correct--Andrew really does control the universe. So yeah, this manifesto is in no way a cry for diaryland help. This is me saying I KNOW ANDREW IS TRYING TO DESTROY ME.
CptnInternet / 2002-07-30 01:15:46This was funny to read. Brightened up my day and all. My input: the "popemobile" looks like a golf cart with bullet proof glass on it. So now you can all have one of your very own. ~ps your Britney banners startled me too, Andrew.
confused / 2002-07-30 14:01:00I live in Toronto too. Let me be the first to say that World Youth Day was a big pain in my commuting ass.
Danielle / 2002-07-30 14:52:13Many Catholics (myself included) are actually UPSET about the condition of their Church right now. You pass yourself off as "politically correct." How politically correct is it to make fun of someone's religion? Everyone gets all up in arms if someone makes fun of Islam, but it's perfectly acceptable to make fun of Catholics. I understand.

I would have expected better of you, Andrew. Even if you don't believe in Catholicism, that doesn't give you the right to make fun of it.
Kate / 2002-07-30 22:59:51PLEASE tell me where I either made fun of catholicism or "passed myself off as politically correct". I made a simple comment about the Popemobile, and if you get your back up over that, you're crazy. Oh wait and I made fun of priests, but remember what every single news show has said: the priests are NOT the church, especially the pedophile ones. So booyaka.
andrew / 2002-07-30 23:33:35i've been reading your website(s) for a long time, and i'm not sure if i liked it better before or after you added comments. all i know is that i really liked the idea of little dogs riding big dogs around. no popemobile, but really--a much more sober and necessary mode of transportation to consider.
jessica / 2002-07-31 02:01:00i'm just waiting for words like "pimpmobile" and "ho gear" to become common words in the media. THAT would be just as cool as "popemobile" to me.
annie / 2002-07-31 02:03:37I just heard them say popemobile on tv...I think maybe I thought you were kidding, but oh no. Those crazy newscasters!
Lindsay / 2002-07-31 11:52:52the thing that i found so intriguing about the pope's visit to canada is all those pictures in the newspapers of kids BAWLING at the sight of him, presumably out of religious fervor. i mean, for a kid the pope is about on par with santa claus. would you cry if you got to meet santa claus? HELL NO!!! you'd be happy. but the pope made kids cry. why? was he whispering threats of hell and damnation in their little kid ears? i just don't get it.
idreamtrains / 2002-07-31 15:36:01the thing that i found so intriguing about the pope's visit to canada is all those pictures in the newspapers of kids BAWLING at the sight of him, presumably out of religious fervor. i mean, for a kid the pope is about on par with santa claus. would you cry if you got to meet santa claus? idreamtrains / 2002-07-31 15:38:45Dont tell me he does not get "excited" around all those young fresh girls. LOL. Poor guy.
itsmylife / 2002-08-01 07:31:00The kids are probably crying out of happiness, not saddness. And on par with Santa Clause? I think the kids know the Pope is greater than any imaginary charcater, being that he is a very important person (hey he has his own popemobilE!)and in charge of the whole Roman Catholic Church.
LinZi / 2002-08-01 09:43:14It is funny to laugh about the popemobile and everything but why are people making fun of the Pope himself?! That is REaLLY REALLY disrespectful! ....and COME ON...the pope wispering threats of hell and damnation in little kids ears? ya right...:/ And everyone may not be Catholic but you should still have respect for the Pope.
Lindsay4U / 2002-08-01 09:53:01people have a RIGHT to freedom of expression. you do not have a RIGHT to be protected from being offended. nowhere in the constitution does it mention the protection of one's delicate emotions regarding god or anything else. whatever current cultural and social movements that have lead you to believe that the rest of society should go tiptoeing around in order to avoid ever hurting other people's feelings--they're just completely wrong. listen, i don't believe in god and even if i did i wouldn't believe in a church that believes that one man represents the divine will of god. and while i'm on the subject i REALLY don't believe in proselytizing, but that doesn't stop christians from trying to convert me all the time. in fact, i'm offended by it: but they shouldn't have to stop just because it's offensive. in other words, telling me that my comments are disrespectful is just silly, ESPECIALLY IN A PUBLIC FORUM. it IS disrespectful, but i think i come by that disrespect honestly. (p.s.--obviously, none of this rant is the opinion of andrew or reflects the opinion of mgmt.)
idreamtrains / 2002-08-01 10:36:15also, you say i should be respectful of him, but whose feelings are you really worried about here? his?? come on! the pope is an 82-year-old man with parkinsons disease. are you worried about his feelings? trust me: he has bigger things to worry about than the opinions of a heretic such as myself. i'm sure he doesn't shed any tears about the zillion blasphemous statements made about him over the internet.
idreamtrains / 2002-08-01 10:46:54Yeah...that has always amused me. The people that make arguments in the name of Christianity or Catholicism against people doing something (homosexuality being a good one). Doesn't that kind of go against their religion? I want to see someone show me in the bible where it says to be a pushy little prick.
Doug / 2002-08-01 13:00:57Yay beans!
Noodle / 2002-08-01 14:44:47Hey, why did the "Comments" link turn just to a comma on the journal main page??
Shaide / 2002-08-01 17:13:43i don't normally do stuff like this but...could you PLEASE fix my stats? i e-mailed you several times but i dunno...maybe i had the wrong addies or whatever. uh...thanks. oh and since this comments thingie for the latest entry...i thought the "popemobile" stuff was pretty...weird, too.
liebling / 2002-08-01 17:35:16Hey Andrew - Have you considered using ANOTHER diary for your tests? Cuz, it's really saddening to thinmk, Aha, another Andrew gemological ebntry, and find it's just another of your tests that you deleted! From yr pal, Red
Red / 2002-08-01 22:05:11actually this time it was because I was adding an entry to another diary I use to keep a links page, but I logged out of that username partway through and back in as andrew, and then forgot to log back in as THAT username. so i added the entry to the wrong diary. As for another diary for tests, I tried that for a while, but then it was a pain because it takes a while to set up a diary with a lot of entries using all the DiaryLand features, and it's a lot easier for me to just test things on this, because half the time I don't notice weird side effects if I test on a fake diary. The last month or two though, whenever I test something, I fix it so buddy lists don't show me testing. I should have done that today, woops.
andrew / 2002-08-01 22:10:02Thank you for changing the Gold banner to Mold. Ummm. . .I was just going to offend the Religious Right, but I don't want to go into that right now.
CptnInternet / 2002-08-04 16:21:40panzer-kitty: you can get jesus action figures at urban outfitters.... urbn.com i think theyre great, too. :)
justme43 / 2002-08-09 12:49:26since i don't know where to make a comment about dland, i thought i'd just do it here. i really like that you added the thing to buddy lists that says if someone has added you to their favorites. i think it should also show you if someone adds an entry of yours to their favorite entries. anyway, good job! :)
rachel / 2002-08-09 22:49:06Diaryland.com is in the newest issue of Seventeen magazine. An article about websites to visit so you can become more "emo". It's a riot.
kathryn / 2002-08-10 11:30:03hey could you please write something andrew? I keep checking back for more hilarity, and I find none! sup with that? I haven't laughed in days.
Jill / 2002-08-13 15:34:35sometimes you write "favourite", and sometimes "favorite". what gives, andrew? what gives?
cptn / 2002-08-16 16:00:12I was thinking today about how the Pope is a lot like King Tutenkama, in that they're both really old guys rapped in sheets who get taken all over the world in glass cases for people to look at. Sure, one wears a mask while the other one has a big fuckin' hat, but other than that, they're pretty much the same guy.
Tony / 2002-08-20 02:19:55haha
sarah / 2002-08-22 15:22:27I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the pope action figure yet! Comes dressed in a Vatican assault uniform!
oniongirl / 2002-08-28 13:19:55I bet when the Pope's in his Popemobile, and he's just Popin' around, he likes to Pope it to the east Pope it to the west Pope it with the choirboy that I know best I be popin.
e-rock / 2002-12-09 17:59:18Lex:"I really f*cking hate those Christians! They are so loud and happy and clean.. and the clapping and singing! Lord, make it stop!"
I think Lindsay is missing the (hilarious) irony in asking the Lord to make the Christians stop their racketeering....
