Oh man, I watched the Grammies on and off tonight (don't worry, I did not spurn awesome Temptation Island), and the ending was SO good. First Eminem and Elton John play, and it was actually really good, better than most performances on awards shows I think, and then after all that buildup, the award for best album didn't go to Eminem, but it didn't go to Radiohead either, who I would guess would be second in line. So it was Beck or Paul Simon even? No. It was Steely Dan. Of all the absolutely retarded choices, Steely Dan, that rules so much, I was laughing so hard. I think their acceptance speech was like "I'm so glad this ended early, I'm tired, and I still have to pick the kids up from a soccer team sleepover!". I was totally hoping they'd win too, just for the ridiculousness factor, but I didn't think they would at all.
I was also hoping that Oscar DelaHoya would win for best latin performer, that would have been 200% excellent. Unfortunately some girl who seemed genuinely floored that she won over Christina Augugialeriaeriaeria went up. Man I wish I had been able to write her speech, cause it would have just been "I dedicate this award to all the amazing latin performers who have spent years honing their craft, and working hard at their art. That's right, I'm talking about Oscar De La Hoya!".
Since I can't spell Christina Augiilerieruguiera's last name I almost called her Christina Malaria, but then I decided that was maybe a bit too grade 6. You're welcome to use that though, go nuts!
Okay, so that was an entire entry about the Grammies, how sad is that? Real sad. Oh wait, there was something I meant to mention I've noticed a lot lately online. There is this new ascii symbol thing, like a smiley except it's not. It's this: <3, isn't it weird? Know what it is? It's a heart! I totally didn't know what it was the first dozen times I saw it, but then I asked someone and that's what it is, just thought you should know for if you see it. I guess people just didn't think saying "I heart (whatever)" was super-annoying and lame enough, so they had to make a crazy ascii thing for it. INTERNET RULES!
