I don't know about movies, but you just know there's going to be a DVD of live footage. Punk Rawk! (makes 'rock sign' hand gesture)

Riot Girl is one of their funniest songs, and the lyrics actually remind me of one of the 10 best reasons to hate Canada, Live On Release, whose 3 minutes of Bif Naked (she made the top 5!)-related fame are over, but their stinky stinky legacy remains (see previous link).

Oh my god oh my god oh my god. Remembering Material Issue and Ned's Atomic Dustbin and the Lemonheads right now. I used to have that stuff on CASSETTE. Yep, I'm old and COOL dammit.
Note to self: rummage thru used CD bins for GOOD music to reaquaint self with who you were 10 years ago. DO NOT wallow in the fact that you are now 30. *sob*

I think Good Charlotte is a hoot. My favorite part of musical trends is when the current bands starts to parody the original style. Or tone it down to fit a different audience. Like punk lite. hehehe Then it really becomes bizarre when it evolves for the really young audience like the 10-12 age group. Remember when rap was all mad and talked about women as ho-s and killing? Then artists like Ludikrus came along made a joke of the whole genre.

true story: I am listening to Good Charlotte as I read this entry. they're from around here, so to me they're pretty good in a local band sort of way. It didn't occur to me that they were actually famous now until people in Canada started talking about them.
------------------------------- Cathie - 2003-04-09 13:49:46
"Little Things" is one of my favorites of Good Charlotte's. The best line: "You still suck!"

I'm so torn, Andrew - I want to yell at you for dissing Bif, but I want to hug you for the Teenage Fanclub mention in your notifylist. Can I hug you while I yell at you?

I KNOW exactly what you mean about Good Charlotte. Oh God, do I ever.
------------------------------- Kat - 2003-04-09 20:45:58
I love GC. They're so awesome. And cute.

------------------------------- Ann - 2003-04-14 00:56:02
oh my-- has canada just discovered good charlotte? in SF its become weirdly outrageously popular, and now all the teeny bobbers are listening to it and they play it in wet seal which is the trendiest store ever and it has basically turned into generic music which kills me. sigh. enjoy it while you can.
------------------------------- rach - 2003-04-16 22:58:49
teeny bobbers? or boppers? yeah, i was just gonna say that good charlotte is awesome, but now i'm tempted to rant at the hilarity of the term "teeny boppers/bobbers" ...well, i've succumbed to my inner laziness and will just have to rant in my head, cuz i'm too lazy to type in an angry fashion. the end!
------------------------------- jennnnnn - 2003-04-23 15:41:08
Do you think Good Charlotte is comfortable being a parody band?? I'm pretty sure that's not what their original intentions were when they decided to form this "punk rock" group. Their best song is definetly "The Motivation Proclaimation". Just sayin',..
------------------------------- graveskull - 2003-04-26 18:49:27
you are so on about this parody thing, i can't believe people think good charlotte is a parody band on purpose.. oh and im mad at you, cuz when i went to look at the lyrics, i got like one hundred million pop up windows and my computer almost died. thought you might like to know, i saw a 7th grader wearing a good charlotte sweatshirt. actually that same day, i saw a 7th grader wearing a jimmy eat world sweatshirt as well.. so all you people who actually like this gc punk lite brand shit, think about that the next time you pop it in your stereo. (i know im old, get over it.) but i guess i should be nice, cuz i went to see the cramps two days ago, and the guy standing next to me hadn't even passed puberty yet, he kept squeaking "ivy".
------------------------------- annie - 2003-05-08 12:57:27
ok. good charlotte rocks. and joel is so hot. and benji. and billy. so ya. gc rox my sox. festival song and waldorf worldwide are possibly the best songs ever. later.
------------------------------- jon - 2003-05-08 13:08:10
I am sure you'll feel that way for a long time annie.
------------------------------- michelle - 2003-06-07 08:43:44
hey dudes, thats true...their fans are now tenny boppers and to cat nah GC aren't old. they don't care if you call them punk or rock or whatever you wanna call them...they just make the bEST music ever.@!!!!!

You Good Charlotte dissers all suck. Muchly. Good Charlotte is the best band on the face of the planet. All this "punk-lite" stupid stuff you invented is as stupid as stupid can get. And that's pretty stupid. Good Charlotte are emo-punks you stupid heads. None of you people on here are probably punks at all. You are either pre-pubescent morons or old geezers. Or stupid. Or stupid teeny boppers (bobbers???) that don't even know what they are talking about. Here are the best bands ever:
1. Good Charlotte
2. AFI
3. The Clash
4. Three Days Grace
5. Rancid
Eat that you stupid "bobbers".
Email and tell me that you have repented your sins and have just purchased the new Good Charlotte c.d. You can get it at Radioland. That's a good store man. They have Rancid sweatshirts there. Rock on.
Check out my band's site at the URL that is posted.

Good Charlotte are not punk. Emo Punk is a trendy term. There are some good "emo" bands, but Good Charlotte is not one of them. I understand however. Your probably young, and haven't discovered good music, but in time, children, you will learn that there is much more out there than what you see on Much Music or MTV. And trust me, that will be a good day. You will open your mind, hearts, and eyes to a new, fantastic world. The only place you will find true punk is the San Frincisco cemetary, because Flipper is 3/4 dead. Anyway, I found this page by fluke, looking for pornography. Funny how life works like that sometimes. Farwell.
